Best Beauty Bits | 2013

So I'm probably a tad late on this, but I have had other posts scheduled and I didn't think you guys would mind too much! Today I'm going to talk about my favourite things of 2013, basically my best beauty bits. Skincare, haircare and makeup. I might make a video over on YouTube to go alongside this post but that won't be up till next week if I do :)

Starting off with haircare I used this Toni & Guy Salt Spray whenever I wore my hair down to add texture and definition, it really works and gives you a kinda of beachy hair style without looking messy or sticky. I also fell in love with the Liz Earle hair oil which is amazing, I use this every time I was my hair to add shine and to keep the ends of my hair nourished and from breaking off, I really recommend this and I will continue to use it this year.

For skincare I have been using my Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser all year, it is the only moisturiser I have found to date that keeps my skin dewy and at bay all day long, previously I've had so much trouble with dry skin appearing throughout the day. Also to keep my dry skin tamed I have been using the Hydraluron face serum non stop, this works incredibly and if you haven't tried it yet you seriously need to!

Makeup wise of course I've still been loving my bare minerals face products, the foundation, well rested eye brightener and mineral veil are just wonderful, I can't say a bad word about them. I know mineral/powder foundations don't work for everybody, I'm kind of the opposite in that liquid foundations really don't work for me :( but I love this brand and these products live in my makeup bag and have done all year. I branched out into liquid concealers in 2013, I got the Bare Minerals stroke of light in a set and I now use it all the time, just to hide those pesky dark circles and brighten the eye area, I then use the Bare Minerals well rested on top! Of course a 2013 favourites wouldn't be the same without the Collection lasting perfection concealer, this is such a good concealer for £4.19, it covers incredibly well and doesn't go cakey whatsoever.

For mascaras I discovered the Maybelline falsies and love it to bits, really adds length to my lashes and the formula is just right. I also still really like Benefit's bad gal lash and I'm even starting to slightly like the they're real, who'd of thought! My favourite eyeshadow palettes has to be the £4.00 MUA palettes, none in particular just them in general, they're such good quality and the colours are beautiful, super pigmented and cheap, a great dupe for the Naked palettes by Urban Decay.

Lipsticks I must say I've loved the Kate Moss collection from Rimmel, they're all lovely colours and the formula, both original and matte is lovely. Also after discovering the lip crayons this year I have to say my favourites have been the Bourjois ones, especially Plum Russian. Oh and I had to sneak in the Lush lip scrub in here as it's so cool and works so well. Maybelline brought out their fantastic colour tattoo cream eyeshadows in 2013 and I think everyone will agree they're great, I actually prefer them to the MAC paint pots as they're a lot more moisturising, wish there were more colours! To keep my eyeshadows in place for a little longer I have been reaching for my MUA pro base eyelid primer a fair amount, it's very affordable at 2 or 3 pounds and works really well, a great Urban Decay dupe again.

What else, hmm.. For eyebrows I've used my ELF brow kit constantly, it's so cheap yet works wonders, I can't say more about it than just go and try it, so much better than the Benefit brow zings. Another fab product of the year has to be the Real Techniques brushes, I can't pick which ones I like the best as they all have their different purposes, they're so useful and make your makeup look incredible. For highlighting I have loved my mary lou manizer from theBalm, until I smashed it into tiny pieces, but I also used the Rimmel wake me up liquid highlighters a fair bit too.
And last but not least my absolute favourite perfume of the year has to be the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, incredible and just sums everything up!

I'm sorry this post is a bit of a ramble and very long, I really want to make a video and I'll try if I can find the time.

What were your 2013 favourites?
